Store apples in a cool place, such as your refrigerator crisper drawer with the vent open to release ethylene gas. Apples with bruises will spoil faster and will speed up of the spoiling process with the remainder of the apples. If storing on the counter be sure to consume within a week.  Apples can absorb flavors and gases of other surrounding items which can lead to early spoilage. Avoid storing your apples near onion or potatoes in the fridge, and bananas on the counter.

Tip: Drizzle lemon juice on top of cut apples to prevent browning while they sit out.
